![]() Multiplayer also has the same options with the standard 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4. You have access to both the Italian campaign and the North African Operation along with single-player skirmish. Outside of the controls the game itself is exactly the same as the PC version. The only advantage here is there is no cross-play so your opponents may have the same control issues you will so hope they don’t have a keyboard and mouse. Multiplayer however may require some fast fingers and screen movement so you will need to be on your A game. If you’re playing single-player combined with the pause feature to issue commands it’s really nice as there is no urgency there to confound button presses. I’d say that the console’s version of controls is one of the better of the console RTS games I’ve played but not quite as responsive as a keyboard and mouse. You need to move the game camera so the thing you want to select is now in the centre of the screen. ![]() The main thing that threw me off was, imagine you’re on PC and your mouse doesn’t work so the cursor sits there in the middle of the screen. However, after a good stint and getting used to the way the 8 main buttons perform different tasks it became easier and easier. At first I thought that it was too and it soured my feeling for the game. In saying that though I’ve always played on PC and thought the idea of no mouse and keyboard would be disgusting. Developer Relic has done that in previous years with the Dawn of War series and the previous entries in the Company of Heros franchise. I’m always looking for a new RTS that grabs me the way they did. Dune 2, Command and Conquer, and Warcraft to name a few. Company Of Heroes 3 ReviewĬompany of Heroes 3 – Console Edition – Andrew Harrisonĭisclaimer: CoH3 supports a keyboard and mouse on console, if you have access to them this will play exactly the same as the PC version.Īs a young gamer, I grew up during the golden age of RTS games. For the most part though, even with my very limited RTS skills, I found Company of Heroes 3 to be an incredibly entertaining romp through two vastly different theatres of World War II. Not always mind you and in those instances, I did need to learn (or re-learn) mechanics on the fly. Thankfully, any time I did find myself struggling, as though the game knew it, a tooltip would pop up to point me in the right direction.Įven better still, because I was able to play on the lowest difficulty, I could just about brute force my way through any scenario. Noobs like me will still find themselves somewhat overwhelmed while veterans will likely be right at home. However, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with Company Of Heroes 3 because, although it is and can be quite a hardcore RTS, it’s also got some nifty features to help the helpless, like myself.įeaturing two unique campaigns, co-op and PvP multiplayer, Company Of Heroes 3 is a whole lotta game. I’m not a great multitasker and I get flustered pretty easily when too many things are happening at the same time StarCraft legend I am not. My RTS career begins and ends with Age of Empires II. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. This is a review of Company of Heroes 3 on PC with additional information regarding the console version. I think mod support and texture packs for such an already visually stunning and amazingly played-out adventure as Have A Nice Death would be a great addition to the game. Maybe being able to have different death skins, attack animations, UI overhauls, or even something simpler such as health bar reskins In the end, these are just my personal opinions and some of the people's opinions I know. It would be something else to give a visual refresh to the game. Have a nice Death is already a beautiful game, so I know the community of artists would do the game justice with texture editing or texture packs. In my opinion, it would give the game tons of replayability. ![]() I know not just myself but other people who would love to have custom curses, food items, enemy drops, cloak or spell abilities, or even new scythes. I love the base game and, in fact, haven't even beat it at this time however, I think being able to download Steam Workshop or Nexus mods would be very well received by the community.
